Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for select destinations declined by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following restricted cargo movements amid excess positions of trucks.

Transporters said slowdown in cargo movements against surplus position of trucks in the markets mainly led to the fall in freight rates for select destinations.

Delhi to Mumbai and Pune freight rates dropped by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 28,000 and Rs 27,000.

Rates to Goa and Vijayawada also moved down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 52,000 and Rs 54,000.
