Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for a few destinations turned weak by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market today following large availability of trucks as compared to cargo movements.
Transporters said excess availability of trucks against restricted cargo movements, mainly led to the fall in freight rates.
Capital to Mumbai and Pune freight rates dropped by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 31,000 and Rs 34,000, respectively.
Rates to Kolkata and Patna also went lower by Rs 1000 each to Rs 33,000 and Rs 27,000, respectively by truck operators.
