Freight rates fall on excess trucks position

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section declined up to Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following excess position of trucks against limited cargo movements.

Transporters said easy availability of trucks against restricted cargo movements, mainly pulled down some of centres freight rates.

Delhi to Mysore, Coimbatore and Kochi rates dropped by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 67,000, Rs 70,000 and Rs 72,000.

Rates to Gwalior, Goa and Mumbai also went down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 16,000, Rs 54,000 and Rs 28,000.

Following are today's freights per nine-tonne load: Jaipur 17,000 Hyderabad 59,000 Chandigarh 18,000 Vijayawada 61,000 Ludhiana 20,000 Bangalore 64,000 Kanpur 21,000 Chennai 65,000 Indore 22,000 Mysore 67,000 Ahmedabad 24,000 Pondicherry 66,000 Baroda 26,000 Coimbatore 70,000 Patna 28,000 Kochi 72,000 Surat 27,000 Thiruvananthapuram 79,000 Mumbai 28,000 Goa 54,000 Pune 30,000 Gwalior 16,000 Kolkata 32,000 Guwahati 53,000.
