Freight rates for select centres up on shortage of trucks

Freight rates for nine-tonne load section for select destinations rose by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market today following shortage of trucks position in the markets against pick up in cargo movements.

Transporters said tight availability of trucks in the markets against pick up in cargo movements mainly supported the rise in freight rates for select destinations.

Delhi to Puducherry and Kolkatta were up by Rs 1000 each to Rs 65,000 and Rs 30,000.

Freights to Coimbatore and Ahmedabad also went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs.69,000 and Rs.21,000.
