Freight rates move up on tight trucks position

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay

load section for select destinations rose by Rs 1,000 at the local

truck transport market in the national capital today following heavy movements of cargo amid shortage of trucks.

Transporters said paucity of trucks in the market amid busy cargo movements led to the rise in some of centres' freight rates.

Delhi to Hyderabad, Goa and Indore freight rates

moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 58,000, Rs 62,000 and Rs 24,000.

Rates to Kochi, Vijayawada and Guwahati also moved up by Rs 1000 each to Rs 79,000, Rs 60,000 and Rs 63,000.
