Freight rates remain lower on excess trucks position

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section drifted lower by Rs 1000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following large availability of trucks against cargo movements.

Transporters said heavy enquiries by truck operators coupled with less cargo movements pulled down some of centres freight rates.

Delhi to Pune and Baroda freight rates dropped by Rs 1000 each to Rs 32,000 and Rs 26,000.

Rates to Ahmedabad and Kolkata also eased by Rs 1000 each to Rs 24,000 and Rs 33,000.
