Freight rates remain steady on ample position of trucks

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for Ahmedabad, Indore and Baroda dropped by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following excess availability of trucks amid tight cargo movements.

Transporters said restricted cargo movements against easy availability of trucks in the markets mainly pulled down freight rates for select centres.

Delhi to Ahmedabad and Baroda freight rates declined by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 24,000 and Rs 25,000.

Also, freight rates to Indore and Surat from Delhi fell by Rs 1,000 to Rs 23,000 and Rs 28,000.
