Freight rates rise on cargo movements

Freight rates for nine-metric tonne pay load section went up by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following increased arrivals of cargo amid less availability of trucks.

Transporters said, besides tight position of trucks, pick up in cargo movements pushed up freight rates for select centres.

Delhi to Hyderabad and Bengaluru moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 56,000 and Rs 65,000, respectively.

Rates to Ahmedabad and Patna also also rose by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 24,000 and Rs 27,000, respectively.
