Freight rates rise on low availability of trucks

Freight rates for the nine-tonne payload section of select destinations rose by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today on increased cargo movements against tight availability of trucks.

Transporters said pick-up in cargo movements against tight availability of trucks mainly pushed up freight rates of select destinations.

Freight rates from Delhi to Hyderabad, Puducherry and Coimbatore quoted higher by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 58,000, Rs 67,000 and Rs 72,000, respectively.
