Freight rates slip on heavy trucks position

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section declined by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following excess position of trucks amidst restricted cargo movements.

Transporters said restricted movements of cargo against easy availability of trucks in the market mainly led to fall in freight rates.

Delhi to Jaipur, Chandigarh and Ludhiana freight rates dropped by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 16,000, Rs 18,000 and Rs 19,000, respectively.

Indore, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Surat and Patna rates also moved down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 20,000, Rs 22,000, Rs 24,000, Rs 26,000 and Rs 27,000, respectively.
