Freight rates up on increased cargo movements

Freight rates for the nine-tonne payload section for select destinations advanced by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following better cargo movements amid less position of trucks.

Transporters said shortage of trucks against increased cargo movements mainly pushed up freight rates for select destinations.

Delhi to Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Bengaluru freight rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 60,000, Rs 62,000 and Rs 65,000, respectively.

Rates to Goa, Jaipur and Thiruvananthapuram also went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 62,000, Rs 17,000 and Rs 84,000, respectively.
