Freight rates up on less position of trucks

Freight rates for nine tonne pay load section rose by Rs.1000 in the local truck transport market today following tight position of trucks amid fresh cargo movements.

Transporters said shortage of trucks as compared to cargo movements, mainly brought the rise in some of centres freights.

Delhi to Mysore, Pondicherry and Coimbatore rates went up by Rs 1,000 each at Rs 70,000, Rs 71,000 and Rs 77,000.

Rates to Goa, Kanpur and Surat also moved up by Rs 1,000 each at Rs 55,000, Rs 22,000 and Rs 28,000.

The following are today's freights per 10-tonne load: Jaipur 18,500 Hyderabad 57,000
 

Chandigarh 20,000 Vijayawada 60,000

Ludhiana 21,000 Bangalore 66,000

Kanpur 22,000 Chennai 68,000

Indore 23,000 Mysore 70,000

Ahmedabad 24,000 Pondicherry 71,000

Baroda 26,000 Coimbatore 73,000

Patna 28,000 Kochi 77,000

Surat 28,000 Thiruvananthapuram 79,000 Mumbai 30,000 Goa 55,000

Pune 31,000 Gwalior 13,000

Kolkata 32,000 Guwahati 55,000.
