Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section rose by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today on tight position of trucks amid pick-up in cargo movements.
Transporters said, besides shortage of trucks, increased cargo movements, mainly pushed up freight rates for some destinations.
Delhi to Ludhiana, Baroda and Surat freight rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 21,000, Rs 27,000 and Rs 29,000, respectively.
Rates to Indore, Gwalior and Bengaluru also went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 24,000, Rs 16,000 and Rs 62,000, respectively.
