Freight rates up on paucity of trucks

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for select destinations were higher by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today on tight trucks position against better cargo movements.

Transporters said less availability of trucks against pick up cargo movements, mainly pushed up freight rates for select destinations.

Delhi to Kanpur, Indore and Ahmedabad freight rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 19,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 23,000.

Rates to Baroda, Bengaluru and Guwahati also went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 25,000, Rs 65,000 and Rs 60,000.
