Freight rates up on tight position of trucks, busy cargo

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for select destinations rose by Rs 1000 in the local truck transport market today following busy cargo movements amid less availability of trucks in the markets.

Transporters said fresh arrivals of cargo along with thin position of trucks in the market mainly brought the rise in some of centres freight rates.

Capital to Puducherry, Coimbatore and

Thiruvananthapuram rates moved up by Rs 1000 each to Rs 73,000, Rs 75,000 and Rs 85,000.

Rates to Surat, Mumbai and Kolkata also went up by Rs 1000 each to Rs 27,000, Rs 31,000 and Rs 34,000.
