Freight rates up on tight trucks position, busy cargo movements

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for select destinations were trading up by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today on tight availability of trucks in the market against cargo movements.

Transporters said besides less position of trucks, pick up in cargo movements mainly pushed up freight rates for select destinations.

Delhi to Pune, Mumbai and Kolkata freight rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 30,000, Rs 29,000 and Rs 33,000.

Rates to Kochi, Guwahati, Coimbatore and Puducherry also went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 74,000, Rs 61,000, Rs 71,000 and Rs 68,000, respectively.
