Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for Kochi and Chennai rose by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following tight availability of trucks against increased cargo movements.
Transporters said tight position of trucks against pick up in cargo movements mainly pushed up Chennai and Kochi freight rates.
Capital to Kochi and Chennai freight rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 73,000 and Rs 63,000.
Elsewhere, other centres' freight rates continued to be asked around last levels on some support.
