French agency to impart skills to air crash investigators

Civil Aviation Secretary, K N Srivastava inaugurated a seminar on 'Aircraft Accident or Incident Investigation Techniques and Management Course', which is being conducted and organised by Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), at the Indian Aviation Academy here today.

"The three-day course, which has been developed in close collaboration with the accident investigation community, pools considerable expertise and experience of investigators, operators and researchers to deliver a level of training of the highest standards," the Ministry said in a statement.

About 50 officials from to AAIB, Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Airports Authority of India, various airlines, airport operators and air accident investigation experts would be attending the seminar.

 

"The training imparted by BEA, who are the world leaders in aviation accident investigations, deals with fundamentals skills required by an accident investigator and reflects the modern trends in accident investigation," the release said, adding that it would make our investigators better equipped to conduct well researched, credible and world class investigations.
