French ambassador holds

French Ambassador to India Francois Richier, on a week-long visit here, today held discussions on investments by entrepreneurs of both the country with French Consul Generals functioning in different parts of the country at a joint meeting.

The meeting, held at the French Consulate, reviewed the various aspects of development with the investments by French entrepreneurs in India and vice versa, official sources said.

Further scope for enhancing the cooperation between India and France in various sectors including tourism, education, industrial activities and other economic partnership were also considered at the meeting, they told PTI.

French Consul General in Puducherry Pierre Fornier coordinated the proceedings. Besides the union territory, France has consulates in Bangalore, Mumbai and Kolkata.
 

The Ambassador's visit to this former French colony also focused among others on the promotion of educational tie ups with India.

Te number of Indian students in France had increased over the years. It was around 2,600 in 2012.
