Fresh batch of 113 pilgrims leave Jammu for Amarnath

A fresh batch of 113 pilgrims today left for the twin base camps of Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas amidst tight security.

The pilgrims including 102 men and 11 women, left in a cavalcade of 4 vehicles from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu for the two base camps of Pahalgam and Baltal in Kashmir this afternoon , a police officer said.

Yesterday, 501 yatris paid obeisance at the cave shrine.

Since the beginning of annual yatra on July 1 this year, 2,16,801 pilgrims have paid their obeisance at the shrine.

The yatra will conclude on August 18 when the holy mace would reach the cave shrine.
