A fresh dengue case was detected in Ganjam district of Odisha today with a 26-year-old man testing positive to the disease here.
The patient from New Bus-stand locality was admitted to the dengue ward in MKCG Medical College and Hospital here and his condition is stable, hospital sources said.
This was the second dengue case in the district in a week as one person from Adapada in Sanakhemundi block is undergoing treatment in the hospital, they said.

With detection of the fresh dengue case, health workers visited the New Bus-stand area and took steps to destroy mosquito larva in the locality today, said district malaria officer, Umakanta Mishra.
Asha, anganwadi and health workers were engaged to educate people and to take steps against mosquito breeding in their localities to prevent spread of dengue, he said.
The main reason for spread of mosquito-borne diseases is water stagnation, he said.
"We have already started sensitising people about the causes of these diseases and their prevention," the DMO added.
Last year, as many as 329 dengue cases were detected in Ganjam district.
