Fresh snowfall in parts of Himachal

Cold wave persisted in most parts of Himachal Pradesh as tribal areas and higher parts got another spell of moderate snowfall while lower hills were lashed by thunderstorm accompanied by intermittent showers.
The sky remained heavily overcast while sharp showers accompanied by high velocity icy winds lashed the region, forcing people to stay indoors.
Keylong and Kalpa in tribal belt recorded 5 cm and 4 cm snow respectively while Jubbal was wettest in the region with 188 mm rains.
Saluni got 14 mm rains, Manali 13 mm, Kandaghat 10 mm, Tissa 9 mm, Dharampur 8 mm, Rajgarh, Sangrah, Kasauli, Kheri and Seobagh got 7 mm rains.
 
Shimla, Solan and Rohru recorded 6 mm rains.
Kalpa in Kinnaur district recorded a low of minus 5.6 deg C, followed by Manali 0.8 deg C, Shimla 3.1 deg C, Solan and Nahan 6.5 deg C, Bhuntar 7.1 deg C, Palampur 7.5 deg C an Dharamsala 8.2 deg C.
Sundernagar recorded a high of 19.7 deg C, followed by Nahan 18.5 deg C, Dharamsala 17.8 deg C, Bhunter 15.7 deg C, Solan 15 deg C and Shimla 11.4 deg C.
Heavy rain, thundershowers would occur at isolated places over the state during next 48 hours.
The local MeT office has warned of heavy snowfall in tribal areas and other higher hills and thunder squall/hail at some places in lower and mid hills during next 48 hours.
