Five star hotels and malls in Delhi may soon be able to offer freshly-brewed beer as Delhi Government is working afresh on a proposal to grant permission for installation of micro brewery plants in these places.
"Following demands and proposals from various five star hotels, pubs and malls, we are considering to extend the initiative and working on the proposal to grant permission for installation of micro brewery plants in these places," said a top official from the Excise department of Delhi government.
The proposal may be sent to the Lt Governor for approval once the elections get over, said the official.

But then the Delhi cabinet had given permission only for setting up of micro-brewery at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA).
However, the micro-brewery hub has not been set up yet due at the Airport due some issues.
To set up a micro-brewery plant, a space of around 4000 square feet is required and costs between 6 to 10 lakhs.
Brew-pubs originated in Germany and gradually became popular globally.
Micro brew-pubs serve fresh and non-pasteurised beer which is comparatively healthier than the bottled beer that contain preservatives. Brew pubs are already popular in Gurgaon, Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore.
