Unable to bear torture done by her husband and in-laws, a 26-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide after strangulating her two children to death here, police said today.
Shraddha Jat strangled her two children -- Pari (1) and Rajveer (3) -- to death and thereafter hanged herself at her residence under the Aerodrome police station limits last night, Additional Superintendent of Police Rupesh Dwivedi said.
Only Shraddha and her kids were in the house when she took the extreme step, he said.
Dwivedi said from primary investigations it has come to light that the she was being allegedly tortured by her husband and his family members for the last couple of days.
However, police is probing the reason behind the harassment, the officer said, adding, further investigations into the matter are on.
