Maharashtra government has decided to provide a floor space index of 4 for the police housing.
The decision was taken yesterday after a review of the police housing projects by the home department, an official release said.
The increased FSI will facilitate construction of one lakh houses (quarters) for the police personnel in the next two years.
While the present requirement is of 1,22,952 houses, 15,579 houses were constructed last year.
