FTIL shares gain nearly 4% as Merill Lynch buys shares

Shares of Financial Technologies today gained nearly 4 per cent after foreign fund house Merrill Lynch Capital Markets Espana acquired 2.64 lakh shares in the Jignesh Shah-led firm.

FTIL's stock ended at Rs 384.40, up 3.89 per cent on the BSE. In intra-day, the scrip surged 5 per cent to Rs 388.50.

At the NSE, the stock moved up by 3.68 per cent to close the day at Rs 384.10.

In the previous trading session, FTIL's stock had rallied 5 per cent.

Merrill Lynch Capital Markets Espana yesterday acquired 2.64 lakh shares in Financial Technologies for an estimated Rs 9.77 crore in an open market transaction.
 

This was in addition to 2.35 lakh shares purchased by the entity day before yesterday in the open market.

Financial Technologies shares were bought at an average price of Rs 370.07 apiece, amounting the transaction to Rs 9.77 crore.

Day before yesterday, Merrill Lynch had picked up 2.35 lakh shares in Financial Technologies for over Rs 8 crore.
