Fuel conservation programme starts

Oil companies Hindustan Petroleum, Bharat Petroleum and Indian Oil Corporations today began a 15-day-long fuel conservation programme in Bihar.

R S Dahiya GM - State level coordinator Oil Industry, Bihar told reporters the theme of Oil and Gas Conservation fortnight (OGCF)-15 is "Indhan Bachao Jan Dhan Badhao" (save fuel save wealth).

Dahiya said India imports about 75 per cent of its crude oil requirement to meet the increasing demand of energy, and in such a condition conservation of fuel holds importance.

He said awareness programme on fuel conservation is organised jointly by the Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) and Public Sector Oil and Gas Companies during January 16-31, 2015.
 

Dahiya said Awareness programme on conservation to be organised in Bihar will cover the mass awareness in Transport sector, Household sector, Agricultural sector and Industrial sector.

S K Panda, State Institutional Manager of Indian Oil Corporation said around 1550 activities will be organised during the fortnight awarness programme in the state. It would include workshop on saving LPG/Kerosene for housewives and college girls, Quiz contest, Essay, Painting contest on Oil and Gas conservation' in schools and colleges.

D Sen Sharma Territory Manager of Bharat Petroleum Corporation and V K Patel Senior Manager of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation stressed on need to save fuel.
