Leading Japanese information and communication technology (ICT) company Fujitsu announced here today that it has appointed Andy Stevenson as its Managing Director for India, as well as Territory Leader for the Middle East and India.

Stevenson's appointment as head of Indian operations is part of the overall commitment and investments Fujitsu is making in India, to build its brand's footprint across services, solutions and products, the company said in a release.

Stevenson is a Fujitsu veteran and a senior executive with diverse international experience, who served previously as CEO of Fujitsu Telecommunications Europe (FTEL) and Executive Director for Hosting, Networks and Security in Fujitsu UK and Ireland.

"India is key to success in our region, and we are pleased to have Stevenson, who has significant leadership experience and proven ability in market acceleration and growth, in India," Fujitsu's Head for Western Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (WEMEIA) Francois Fleutiaux said in the release.

Stevenson's appointment also follows the announcement of Fujitsu's Global Matrix Organisation, and in line with its goal of expanding its business globally and creating a structure that enables it to serve its regional and global customers more efficiently and effectively, the release said.

As part of this new structure, all five regions report to the President of Fujitsu Limited and are collectively responsible for market strategy, sales growth, service excellence and enhancing Fujitsu's brand in their region, the release said.
