Fulfil dreams of those who laid down lives for country:CM

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today urged the people, especially the youth, of the State to fulfil the dreams of those who laid down their lives for the freedom of the country.

The chief minister was speaking at the 77thstate-level "Shaheedi Mahasammelan" to commemorate the martyrdom day of Shaheed Udham Singh at village Sangar Sarista in district Sirsa today.

Khattar announced that a public holiday on July 31 and a restricted holiday on December 26, the birth anniversary of Shaheed Udham Singh, would be observed every year.

Reiterating the commitment of his government to uplift all sections of the society, Khattar said that during its 1,000 day tenure, several significant steps had been taken.
 

"The Haryana Government is providing corruption-free governance and implementing welfare policies. As many as 52 per cent of the chief minister's announcements have so far been completed and work is being carried out to execute the rest at a fast pace", he added.

He also lauded the role played by saints and social organisations in creating awareness among people about social evils.
