The National Green Tribunal today issued notices to Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (DSIIDC) and Okhla Industrial Area CETP Society over functioning of effluent treatment plants.
"The Lawrence Road CETP plant run by DSIIDC and Okhla plant run by Okhla CETP Society to show cause as to why environmental compensation not be imposed upon them for not maintaining these plants in proper condition and performing as per the prescribed standards," a bench headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Swatanter Kumar said.
The green panel also came down heavily on DSIIDC and Okhla Industrial Area CETP Society for poor maintenance of these plants and directed them to file affidavit within two weeks about the status of CETPs.
