"Adopt latest techniques to improve policing for better public service. Updating of records and better management of manpower would help in enhancing the capabilities of professional policing," the DGP said while inspecting Jammu Zone Police Headquarters here today.
Efficient utilisation of manpower and latest techniques of investigation would help in crime control in the state, Prasad said.
"Maintaining law and order and safety of people is the responsibility of the state police and steps will be taken to maintain lasting peace in the state," the officer said.
He said that computerisation and use of Information Technology (IT) in updating records and procedure of investigation would prove beneficial for the organisation.
"Methods used by the criminals are posing challenge to the investigation agencies and to overcome the situation police needs to be equipped with latest instruments and techniques," Prasad said.
He assured the meeting that Police Headquarters (PHQ) would provide every possible assistance to make all the wings of the organisation more effective and self sufficient.
