"It is a baseless allegation and BJP totally rejects it. Digvijay has always been speaking out of tune. Our party President has issued a legal notice to him. Let him answer," BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar told reporters here today.
Digvijay Singh had alleged Sancheti was allocated a coal mine in Madhya Pradesh because of his closeness to Gadkari.
On the likelihood of CBI grilling former minister of state for coal Santosh Bogradia, Javadekar said this was the eleventh name tumbling out of UPA cupboard.
"It is very clear that the coal blocks were allocated in arbitrary manner for favours and favouring somebody," he said.
Javadekar said it was because of BJP's efforts that the CBI had launched an inquiry into coal blocks allocation. "The CBI probe is happening because of our complaint. This is not government appointed investigation."

On Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asking media to act with restraint, Javadekar alleged since the new revelations were embarrassing the UPA Government, he was advising the fourth estate to adopt restraint.
"The Prime Minister never said anything soon after Assam violence and Mumbai attack. Why is he advising media now? It is because media is making new revelations which is causing embarrassment to UPA government," he said.
He should pat the media for doing a good job in bringing out the truth before the people, Javadekar said.
