Nitin Gadkari, who was recently appointed BJP's election in-charge of Delhi, today asked party MLAs here to "work hard" and sought a report on development projects being carried out in their respective areas.

In his first meeting with the party MLAs of Delhi after taking charge of the new responsibility, Gadkari discussed the preparations for the upcoming assembly elections.

He also asked party MLAs about their strategies to make people aware about the "failures" of the Congress government.

Gadkari asked the MLAs to prepare a strategy to counter the Congress government in the Assembly during the Monsoon Session, scheduled between August 27 and August 30, a Delhi BJP spokesperson said.

Gadkari also took the feedback from the MLAs about the party's performance.

Delhi BJP President Vijay Goel, who was also present in the meeting, has targeted Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit over the issue of hike in electricity and water tariffs.

Goel had challenged the Chief Minister that if voted to power, BJP would bring down the power tariff by 30 per cent.
