Actor Matthew McConaughey, who underwent physical transformation by losing weight for his role of AIDS patient in 'Dallas Buyers Club', is finding it hard to pile on the lost pounds.

The 44-year-old hunk shed 50 pounds for the movie, says regaining weight is more work than losing it, reported Contactmusic.

"I gained 45 (pounds). The gaining was trickier than the losing. It's more fun, but it's also trickier," McConaughey said.

'The Wedding Planner' star added that gaining weight is like marathon and takes time.

"The first big meal that you eat, your body remembers that it lived at 182 pounds and it wants to sprint back and you have to pull the reigns and go, 'Woah! We gotta take it easy.' It's a marathon," he said.
