A gambling den, being run in the garb of a video game parlour, was today busted and one person was arrested at Barodia Basti under Sadar police station limits here, police said.

Kamal Chandra Agarwal (36), a resident of the Karghani area, was arrested and 11 gambling machines used in casinos were seized, they added.

The accused had rented a shop to run a video game parlour.

However, over the last three months, he had purchased 11 casino consoles to organise gambling, police said.

Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a decoy operation and busted the gambling den.

"The accused used to pay the clients nine times the amount for every successful gambling attempt. We have arrested the accused and booked him under sections 3, 4 of the Gambling Act," SHO, Sadar police station, Radmal Singh told PTI.
