"Game of Thrones" showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss have set an untitled thriller feature inspired by graphic novel "Lovecraft" at Warner Bros.

The duo are heading back to WarnerMedia Entertainment, parent company behind HBO's epic fantasy series "Game of Thrones", which ended this May.

Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi of "Aeon Flux" and "Ride Along", will write the script the film based on the novel by Hans Rodionoff, reported Deadline.

Karyn Kusama will executive produce.

According to sources, the movie asks a horrifying question: "what if HP Lovecraft wasn't making it up? What if the monsters he created are real?"

The movie will be set in 1920 within the Cthulhu mythos.

In August, Benioff and Weiss signed a megadeal to create TV and film projects for Netflix as well. They are expected to write, produce and direct new projects for the streaming platform under an overall global deal.
