American fantasy drama series 'Game of Thrones' has been renewed for two more seasons.

The hit show, which airs on HBO, is an adaptation of George RR Martin's series of fantasy novels, 'A Song of Ice and Fire'. It is currently in its fourth season, said The Hollywood Reporter.

HBO programming president Michael Lombardo said that the show has become a phenomenon among the viewers.

"Game of Thrones is a phenomenon like no other. David Benioff and D B Weiss, along with their talented collaborators, continue to surpass themselves, and we look forward to more of their dazzling storytelling," Lombardo said.

The most recent season of the series grossed an average weekly audience of 14.4 million viewers, and the premiere on April 6 brought in 6.6 million viewers.
