Describing 'Ganesh Talkies' as a hit, having clicked with the urban audiences, film's important cast member Pallabi Chatterjee today said it was unmistakenably a city flick.

Pallabi, having essayed the Marwari household wife in the flick based on the cross-bridge between different communities in city, said, "The film definitively couldn't click with the rural audience. But the story line, the unique, take on relationships, the comic touch bore the typical Anjan Dutta 'Gharana'."

The affable actress, who came here to mark the launch of new Fashion Label Anukriti, said about Ganesh Talkies, "It was a breezy film, not serious arty arty type. The story line about the bonding of two families mirror the cosmopolitan Kolkata society and we are all proud Anjanda handled the issue in such a lively way."

"May be it was not so much a hit in rural areas for different kinds of urban audiences lapped it up," she said.

Pallabi, whose intense role in Rituparno Ghosh's 'Dosar' earned plaudits, said costume designing is now coming up in a big way in new age Bengali films.

"Design labels like anuCriti, which blend ethnic and contemporary, will highlight our strong points to the global audience. Having seen models, draped in ethnic sarees, walking the ramp makes you aware Indian women look the best in traditional wear," the well-known film and TV actor said.
