Gang of auto-lifters active in Delhi busted; 4 held

With the arrest of four persons, police today claimed to have busted an inter-state gang of vehicle thieves active in Delhi and adjoining areas.

Six cars and one scooter stolen by the gang from various places were recovered from them, police said here.

Muktsar SSP Kuldeep Singh Chahal said three accused were nabbed during police checking near Sarainaga bus stand this afternoon.

They were identified as Gurdhir Singh, Pritam Singh and Balwinder Singh, he said.

The car in which they were travelling was found to have been stolen.

On the basis of the information provided by the three, another gang member Inderjit Singh was arrested.
 

The gang has been operating in Delhi and adjoining areas for the last two years. It used to steal vehicles from Delhi and then sell them in Punjab, police said.
