Delhi Police today claimed to have busted a gang involved in child lifting from hospitals and other places with the arrest of a 38-year-old woman from Pahar Ganj area here, and also rescued a boy kidnapped two years ago from RML hospital.

Anita, a resident of Nabi Karim area, was nabbed this morning by the crime branch of the Delhi Police.

Her arrest came a day after another member of the gang, Sunita (34), was nabbed and a four-year-old boy kidnapped from the premises of Lady Hardinge Medical College here was rescued, police said.

The police also said that on the instance of Sunita, another boy who was lifted from Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital two years ago, was rescued from Sunita's house this morning.

"We have recovered a boy, identified as Shivam whose name may not be real, from Sunita's house and police are interrogating both the women to get some leads in the case," a police officer said.

Sunita told the police that her financial condition was not good and she had lifted the child to get some money.

"Sunita told police that her neighbour Anita had asked her to lift a boy, who would be given to one Baba and in return, they would get Rs 1 lakh.

"The financial condition of Sunita was in dire straits and she succumbed to the offer and eventually lifted the boy Anshul from Lady Harding Medical College hospital. She was to handover the child to Anita who did not turn up last evening," said a senior police officer.
