With the arrest of a man, Delhi Police today claimed to have busted a gang of snatchers which used to target morning walkers.
As per police, the gang had been involved in at least 16 cases of robberies in the city.
"Mastermind Babbu Malik, a resident of Mustafabad along with his accomplice Arif used to leave their house at 4 AM on a grey colour scooter and wander around places near parks."

"They used to target aged morning walkers wearing gold jewellery. They then used to approach them and try to introduce themselves and then used to rob all the valuables at gunpoint before escaping," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East) P Karunakaran.
Malik was trapped and arrested from Sarai Kale Khan on December 24. Police recovered a country-made pistol from him while his aide Arif managed to escape. Efforts are on to nab him, police said
During the interrogation, he confessed to have committed about 16 robberies/snatching with his associate Arif.
At the instance of the accused, robbed gold kada, chain and five rings have been recovered. The receiver of the stolen property has been identified and will be arrested soon. Further investigation is in progress, police said.
