Police arrested six persons and claimed to have busted a gang of thieves active in the district.
The arrested persons -- Babu, Tasleem, Munif, Amjad, Sahab and Afsar, all aged between 25 and 35 years, were arrested from Niwadi area last night on a tip-off, police said.
A stolen car, a county-made pistol and five knives were recovered from their possession, they said.
The six were wanted in a number of cases, including that of vehicle theft, and they have confessed to their involvement in these crimes, they said.
The arrested persons are being interrogated to get inputs about their accomplices.
