Gang-rape: Bus owner sent to police custody for submitting fake documents

He submitted false papers to get permit, registration certificate for the bus

A Delhi court sent the owner of the bus in which the 23-year-old girl was gang-raped and fatally assaulted on December 16 to a 2-day police custoy.

The girl succumbed in a Singapore hospital on December 29.

Metropolitan Magistrate Chhavi Kapoor was informed that Dinesh Yadav, the bus owner, allegedly submitted false documents for getting his vehicles registered.

Yadav was arrested yesterday from his residence in Rasoolpur Nawada village near Noida Sector 62.

35-year-old Yadav has been charged with cheating and giving false statement to a public servant.

He allegedly furnished false papers to the State Transport Department to get the registration certificate and the permit for the bus.

 

He also submitted a false affidavit about his residential address to get the bus registered with the Delhi Transport Authority.

However, Yadav's actual address was revealed in the later stages of the probe. All the 11 buses were registered in his name.
