Gang selling illegal firearms busted in MP

Madhya Pradesh police today busted a seven-member gang involved in illegal trade of firearms.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Amrendra Singh identified the arrested men as Hemant alias Bunty, Anil Singh Chauhan, Rampal Jat, Badrilal Jat, Mahesh Jat, Ajay Sikliagar and Firoz Khan.

Police acted on information obtained from an illegal arms manufacturer who was arrested recently and arrested these men from Mhow town and different parts of Barwani district, he said.

The accused sold illegal firearms in Indore, Barwani and Neemuch districts and some other parts of Madhya Pradesh. Some of them worked as middlemen between buyers and weapon manufacturers, he said.
 

Eighteen country-made-pistols and 13 cartridges were recovered from their possession, Singh said.
