Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti today said that the 120 teams, constituted to inspect the banks along the rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Ramganga, have submitted their report to the ministry.

The ministry will now present the report in the Lok Sabha.

"The teams have submitted the report to the government after inspecting 118 places along the rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Ramganga. The report will be presented before the Lok Sabha," Bharti said here.

The teams of officials, drawn from different wings of the ministry, have been constituted to study various aspects of 118 places along the rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Ramganga to make them pollution-free.

Bharti said the teams have inspected 118 nullahs in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Bihar.

The minister said that even water from water-treatment plants should not be discharged into river Ganga as it contains pollutants.

"The water from water-treatment plants should not be released into river Ganga as it carries several pollutants," she said.

On the issue of inter-linking of rivers, Bharti said the matter has been discussed with Odisha, Bihar and West Bengal and the ministry will work on whatever proposals the states will send.
