Rahjil Gangjee fought back with three birdies in a row and was one-under through 15 holes when inclement weather ended play on the second day of Shigeo Nagashima Invitational Segasammy Cup Golf Tournament.
The Indian, who shot even par 72 in the first round, was one-under through 33 holes and was tied 38th.
Gangjee, even par for front nine with two birdies and two bogeys, dropped shots on 10th and 11th. He fought back with birdies on 13, 14 and 15 when play was halted.
Ryo Ishikawa (67-66) was in lead at 11-under 133 while Thailand's Prom Meesawat (67-68) was two shots behind at nine-under 135. Five players including Yuta Ikeda were tied third at six-under 138.
The Segasammy Cup is the first event after a six-week break on Japan Tour. The last event was Japan PGA, which was won by Ishikawa, who is looking for back to back wins.
