Gangjee earns chance for a top-10 finish in Nationwide

Gangjee, who was unable to tee off for his second round on Friday, first shot two-under 68 for the second round and then added a one-under 69 for the third round.

At three-under 207, he was tied 14th while defending champion Daniel Chopra missed the cut after posting rounds of 74-73 for a total of 147.

Gangjee had five birdies, a bogey and a double bogey in second round, while he had three birdies and two bogeys in third round.

South African Tyrone Van Aswegen held the top place at 10-under par through 14 holes. Van Aswegen, who has made the cut in all five of his starts this season, made up ground on the leaders quickly with three straight birdies to open round three. He then closed with three straight at 12-13-and-14 before the horn sounded to halt play for the day.

 

Brian Stuard sank up a couple of eagles to reach 8-under par with six holes to play, while Jim Renner is at 7-under with one hole to play and tied with Michael Putnam.
