Ganja worth around Rs three crore being smuggled from Andhra Pradesh to Kerala was today seized from a lorry and two persons were arrested at Cumbum, near here, by Narcotics Intelligence Bureau officials, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, a team, led by DSP Venkateswaran, intercepted and carried out an inspection of the vehicle, police said, adding that the narcotic substance, weighing 300 kg, was kept hidden in a secret chamber of the vehicle.
Though the lorry looked empty, the ganja was neatly packed and hoarded in the secret chamber behind the driver's cabin, police said, adding that both the occupants of the vehicle were arrested.
The seized narcotic was worth Rs three crore in the illicit market, police said, adding that it had been procured in Andhra Pradesh.
