One man was today arrested and 685 kg ganja worth over Rs 34 lakh, which was being transported in two vehicles owned by him, was seized in East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh, police said.
The accused Gadi Sudhakar (30}, a resident of Autonagar near Diwanchervu area here was held and two vehicles carrying the banned substance were intercepted on the national highway this afternoon, inspector of Bommuru police in Rajahmundry GVV Nageswara Rao said.
"Acting on a tip-off, two vehicles were intercepted and ganja worth around Rs 34.25 lakh was seized. The vehicles had been specially designed to transport the banned substance. There were special cabins created beneath, which were concealed with iron doors," Rao said.
