Elsewhere, Dumka, Gumla, Latehar, Lohardaga, Palamau, West Singhbhum registered a high of 44 deg C each, while Koderma recorded maximum 43 deg C, they said.
However, temperature in Bokaro and Giridih, which was sizzling at 46 deg C for the past one week, went down to 41 and 42 deg C respectively.
People in Hazaribagh endured another hot day at 42 deg C.
In Ranchi, which recorded the season's highest at 42 deg C yesterday, recorded 40.8 deg C.
Meanwhile, there was respite in Pakur and Jamtara districts of Santhal Pargana region with the mercury dipping to around 38 deg C after a cloudy afternoon, Met officials said.
